Export

Exporting video and subtitle files

Export MP4, MOV, H.265, WebM, SRT, VTT and ASS; save edits and download the result.

Available formats

  • MP4 โ€” finished video with styled captions; the default choice for publishing.
  • MOV โ€” video for workflows using Apple applications.
  • H.265 โ€” HEVC video in an MP4 container; check support on the receiving device.
  • WebM โ€” video for compatible browsers and players.
  • SRT โ€” text and timing without editor styling.
  • VTT โ€” a separate subtitle track for web players.
  • ASS โ€” subtitles with extended styling; requires a compatible player.

Start an export

  1. Click Download video โ€” in the right panel, in the editor header or on the โ€œYour subtitles are readyโ€ card. On a phone, use the Download tab.
  2. Pick a format. On the free plan that's MP4 with a watermark, or this video with no watermark and every format.
  3. Wait while the file is prepared โ€” the download starts on its own. Unsaved edits are sent to the server first; if they don't get through, the export doesn't start and asks you to retry.
  4. If the download didn't start, click Download video in the same window. As long as the project hasn't changed, it hands you the file that's already built.

Choose a format

Use MP4 for a ready-to-publish video that preserves the chosen design. SRT usually fits editing or separate subtitle tracks, VTT is intended for web players, and ASS carries more styling information.

Verify the result

  • Open the downloaded file before closing the project.
  • For MP4, check the beginning, middle, and end.
  • For text formats, confirm that all characters display correctly.
  • Keep the source project if you plan to create additional versions.

MP4 in the browser

In a supported browser, MP4 is built in the open tab with progress and a cancel button. Keep the tab open and download the file before reloading. If browser export is unsupported, MP4 is processed on the server. If a no-audio message appears, check the file; choose a server video format for an alternative rendering path.

Video with B-roll and zoom

Use server export to MOV, H.265 or WebM for B-roll and zoom effects and verify the result. The current browser MP4 export includes captions and headlines but not timeline effects. Use Burn fragment in the Scene tab to check effects on a short segment.
